PAINTING BY VISUALLY IMPAIRED ARTISTS

Smt Lalithha Das from Hyderabad, T.S. a artist and social worker has involved in teaching visually impaired students . She explained colours with reference with our emotions. Like anger is red, peace is white, joy is golden yellow and orange, victory is green,etc. To make it easier for them she mixed fragrances which were close to these colours like jasmine for white, rose for red, lemon for yellow and so on. While using the sense of smell to identify colours i also made them use to sense of touch.”I took a paper and drew outlines with different materials like if they were to paint a mountain”. She made an outline of a mountain and they would touch and feel the border and gradually they understood what they were painting. They paint houses ducks elephants sun rising birds like many more. This is her own invention of teaching total blind how to paint. telugu book of records have recognized this talent and has awarded her.
